CHARLESTON, S.C. — SJC Ventures, a premier Atlanta-based mixed-use, grocery-anchored retail and multi-family development firm, recently announced its final tenants for phase two of West Ashley Station, making the property 100 percent leased.
Phase one, anchored by a 45,062-square-foot Whole Foods Market, is located at 1125 Savannah Highway and is a conveniently located shopping plaza with three access points, two traffic signals and visibility that makes it a prominent and popular shopping location in the city. Initially opened in late summer of 2018, the initial phase has been a tremendous addition to the community of West Ashley.
“From conception, West Ashley Station was designed to be a best-in-class shopping center centered around Whole Foods as our organic grocery anchor,” said Cori Jackson, senior leasing director for SJC Ventures. “SJC Ventures envisioned providing a mix of national chains, strong local businesses and franchises to bring more dining options and service needs that were missing from the West Ashley area.”
Phase two will include more parking and an additional 29,000 square feet of space for full-service and fast casual restaurants, lifestyle services and convenience-based retail shopping. Previously announced tenants for phase two include a relocated and expanded Hollywood Feed, Hand & Stone, Another Broken Egg, Pacific Dental and GoodVets.
Newly announced tenants include Jersey Mike’s Subs; Nothing Bundt Cakes; CAVA; Nikita Hair Salon; House of Sage, a women’s boutique; and Serotonin Centers.
Several tenants in the second phase are already open, with a majority set to open by the end of this year. The center expects all tenants to be open by February 2025.
“Our team is so thankful for our partnership with the City of Charleston over the past few years, Carolina Retail Experts (John Orr and Lindsey Halter) for their local leasing expertise in crafting the perfect mix of retailers, and to Ted Chestnut, Gene Garrett and Jason Fokin with Hill Construction for their efforts in constructing a beautiful shopping center that will be enjoyed by many for years to come,” said Jackson.
